Do I need the physical game?
No. Each player only needs a phone, tablet or laptop with a browser. Nothing to install, no accounts.
How many players?
Three to twelve. Five to eight is the sweet spot; three-player games are quick and brutal.
Can we play sitting together in one room?
Yes, that is how the original is played. Everyone joins the table on their own phone; the host arranges the seat order to match the real seats so neighbour-based roles work. The app replaces the narrator: it wakes each role privately, so nobody has to close their eyes and whisper.
Can we play remotely?
Yes. Share the code or link, and turn on "video and voice during the day" if you want the app to carry the conversation. Any mix works too: some people at a kitchen table, some at home.
How does the video avoid echo when several of us share a room?
People sitting together pick one device as the table’s camera and speaker. The other devices at that table publish nothing and play no sound; they only show the remote players. Remote players use their own camera and microphone (headphones recommended).
Is the video recorded?
No. The call only exists during the day, the vote and the results, and nothing is stored.
What happens if my phone locks or the connection drops?
The table remembers your seat. Reopen the link and you are back where you were, including any night prompt that was waiting for you. If the host disappears for a minute, another player becomes host automatically.
Which roles are included?
The base game, Daybreak, the Bonus roles and the Alien pack, forty roles in total, with artifacts and the official wake order. See the full list on the roles page.
Can someone cheat by reading the page code?
No. Your phone only ever receives what your role legitimately learned; the cards themselves stay on the server until the results.
Why are there ads?
They pay for the servers and the video minutes. Ads appear only on the written pages, in the lobby while you wait, and on the results screen, never during the night or the vote.
