What the game stores
- The table. The room code, the display name you typed, your seat, the cards, your night actions and your votes. This is what makes the game work. A table is deleted automatically six hours after the last activity.
- The lobby list. While a public table waits for players, everyone on the home page sees its lobby name, how many seats are taken and whether it has a password; never the players’ names. A table’s password is kept only as a one-way hash, and wrong guesses are counted per IP address for one minute, in memory. Private tables are never listed.
- The chat. What you write in a table’s chat, with your display name. Everyone at the table sees it, people watching the game too. The table keeps its latest 100 messages and they go with it, six hours after the last activity.
- A session token in your browser’s local storage, so you can return to your seat after a reload. It identifies your seat at one table, not you. Your last display name and your sound settings are kept in the same place. Clearing site data removes them.
- No accounts. There is no sign-up, no e-mail address, no account password.
- Technical logs. Our hosting provider processes your IP address to deliver the site and to protect it from abuse; we keep short-lived request logs without personal profiles.
Bots in the chat
At a table with bots, the messages written in the chat during the day, the players’ display names and the roles they claim are sent to Cloudflare Workers AI, where a language model words the bots’ answers and chooses their votes. They are used for nothing else: Cloudflare does not use them to train AI models or to improve its services. Of the cards, the model is told only what each bot knows (its own card and what it saw at night); what the bots say is part of the game, not advice.
Video and voice
Only when you turn on your microphone or camera does it stream to the other players, through our media provider: your microphone to the players whose microphone is on, in every phase but the night and the vote; your camera to the other players during the day. The call is live only; nothing is recorded or stored. Your browser will ask for permission first, and you can turn either off at any time. Nothing streams at night.
Advertising and analytics
The written pages, the lobby while you wait, and the results screen may show ads served by Google AdSense, and Google Analytics counts visits and games played. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your earlier visits to this site or to other sites: Google’s advertising cookies let it and its partners show you ads based on your visits here and elsewhere on the internet.
If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you will see a consent dialog before any advertising or analytics cookie is set; ads and analytics run without personal data until you agree, and the “Privacy settings” link at the foot of this page changes your choice at any time. Elsewhere, you can turn off personalised ads in Google’s ad settings, and other vendors’ at aboutads.info. How Google uses this data: policies.google.com.
Children
The game is meant for players aged 13 and over (16 in the EEA). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
Changes
We will update this page when the service changes.
